John Connelly and Catherine Golden were married in on February 11, 1857, in County Mayo. They left Ireland for Chicago with four of their children about 1870. Their four-year-old daughter Bridget died of scarlet fever soon after their arrival. Three more children were born to John and Catherine in Chicago, including my grandmother, Brigid.
